Prishtina, September 19 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today in a farewell meeting the so far Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Jean Claude Schlumberger.
“We have cooperated in times of challenge, but we have successfully coped with it. The OSCE has played an essential role in the organization of the general local elections in the northern part of Kosovo. You have contributed to the development and strengthening of democracy in Kosovo”, said President Thaçi.
Talking about the process of the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Balkan countries, President Thaçi said that we can not remain hostage of the past.
“The future is in peace and dialogue”, he added.
On the other hand, the current Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Jean Claude Schlumberger expressed his satisfaction with the role he has had in the implementation of the agreements reached within the dialogue.
“We remain committed to the strengthening of the institutions of Kosovo and for reconciliation”, he added.
President Thaçi highly praised his commitment for the strengthening of democracy in Kosovo and thanked Ambassador Schlumberger for the cooperation so far.
