President Thaçi pays tribute at the grave of Tahir Meha on the 35th anniversary of his fall

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi paid today tribute at the grave of Tahir Meha, in prekaz, on the 35th anniversary of his fall.

President Thaçi said that after the events of 1981 and the violent suppression of demonstrations by students and all citizens for the “Republic of Kosovo”, the resistance of Tahir and his family was the best possible responsible to the oppressive Serb uniforms in Kosovo, but also against the communist system that oppressed the people of Kosovo but also imprisoned and killed Kosovan students.

“We are here today to pay highest institutional honors, together with the President of the Assembly. We will always remember this resistance as a nation and the values of that resistance will only grow over time”, President Thaçi said.

He said that we had found the values of the resistance also in the formations of the Kosovo Liberation Army, in the ideas and in the greatest and most powerful project of our nation, in the struggle for liberation.
