President Thaçi: Our people gave the world a miracle, they gave the world Mother Teresa

Vatican City, September 4, 2016 - The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, attended today the canonization ceremony of Mother Teresa, at the Vatican.

The canonization ceremony led by Pope Francis at the St. Peter’s Basilica assembled numerous world leaders and personalities.

“Our people gave the world a loving mother for all the peoples. They gave the world a miracle, who with her noble path was a symbol of goodness and the embodiment of the best human characteristics. Today, along with the canonization of Mother Teresa her Albanian origin has been canonized as well”, said President Thaçi

In honor of the Albanian humanist, last night at the Holy See the concert “The Anthem of Mother Teresa” was held, where Albanian and world famous artists participated.

Mother Teresa was decorated with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, and was beatified by Pope John Paul in 2003, after that the Holy See had accepted that thanks to her supernatural intervention, she had cured an Indian woman.

Last year, on December 17, 2015, Pope Francis acknowledged the second miracle of Mother Teresa, namely the extraordinary healing of a young Brazilian, on December 9, 2008.

The recognition of the second miracle of the Holy See gave way to today’s canonization of Mother Teresa.
