The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, who is on a visit in Slovenia, where he participated at the Brdo-Brione Summit, held a bilateral meeting with the President of the German Federation, Frank-Walter Steinmeier
President Thaçi said that Kosovo is successfully pursuing reforms in economy, in the building of democratic institutions and in the consolidation of the rule of law.
“The SAA is a confirmation of the achievements in the building of democratic institutions, reforms in economy and the strengthening of the rule of law”, said President Thaçi.
Speaking about the dialogue with Serbia, President Thaçi said the dialogue should turn into a process for reconciliation, friendship and good neighborly cooperation between Kosovo and Serbia.
As for regional relations, the Head of State added that Kosovo’s relations with the countries of the region are constructive relations aimed at improving the lives of the citizens.
He, among other things added that it is time for a strategic EU approach towards the Western Balkans.
“The delay of the EU to approximate the Western Balkans region, especially Kosovo, is a threat to security”, affirmed President Thaçi, adding that the vacuum left by the EU, is hastened to be taken over by other nationalist and religious ideologies.
