President Thaçi met the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein

Amman, May 20, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi has met today with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, upon whose invitation he is staying in Jordan.

President Thaçi, thanked the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, for the recognition and continued support of Jordan for the state of Kosovo

Speaking about the recognitions and the consolidation of the state of Kosovo, President Thaçi highly praised the contribution that Jordan has given in this regard. “Jordan has been present in Kosovo since the end of the war and has helped in the building and the consolidation of the state of Kosovo”, said President Thaçi.

He further said that it is important to strengthen cooperation between the two countries even more, especially in the fields which are of mutual interest.

“Our countries share the same interests and priorities for sustainable peace, development and cooperation in the security field”, said President Thaçi.

In this regard, the deepening of the further cooperation in general, in particular in the field of security, is necessary.

The King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, thanked President Thaçi for his visit to Jordan, and he assessed that the deepening of cooperation in various fields such as education, culture and security is necessary.

During the day, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has also participated at the opening of the World Economic Forum for Middle East and North Africa, which this year is organized by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

At the margins of this Forum, President Thaçi has held meetings with many heads of various states of the world, with whom he has discussed about the further promotion and consolidation of Kosovo.
