New York, September 20, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, who is heading the delegation of Kosovo, in New York, has met this evening with the Secretary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen.
The Head of State congratulated Dr. Al-Othaim once again for taking over the post of Secretary General of the IOB, an organization which has strongly supported Kosovo.
“I thanked Dr. Al—Othaimeen for the important support of the OIC to strengthen Kosovo’s international subjectivity. Of the 57 states of this organization, 36 of them have recognized Kosovo’s independence”, said President Thaçi during the meeting.
President Thaçi added that the support of the Secretary of the OIC and its member states to increase Kosovo’s recognitions is of special importance for the affirmation of the state in the international arena.
