Prishtina, February 03, 2017 – The President of the country, Hashim Thaçi, today has received a group of representatives of “Atlantic Council” from Washington, headed by Damon Wilson and Sarah Bedenbaugh.
President Thaçi informed them about the successes in political and economic reforms in the country, and also about the consolidation of law and order.
With the representatives of “Atlantic Council”, President Thaçi also talked about Kosovo’s constructive role in the region and about the good neighborly relations which are already built.
“The dialogue with Serbia has its challenges, but we also have achievements from it”, stated President Thaçi.
The delegation of “Atlantic Council” agreed that the Western Balkans chapter is not closed yet.
According to them, without full EU membership this chapter is not closed, therefore, it a strategic commitment from all parties is needed.
President Thaçi stressed that the special relations which Kosovo has with the United States are essential for peace and security in the region.
“Guanrantee of this stability is the membership of the entire region into NATO and the EU”, added President Thaçi.
