President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi received today the French Secretary of State for European Affairs, Harlem Désir, and the German Minister of State for Europe, Michael Roth.
President Thaçi thanked the representatives of France and Germany for the continuous support for Kosovo, stressing that “we have achieved Kosovo’s success together” and that Kosovo is a factor of stability in the region today.
Secretary Désir said that Kosovo has achieved significant success and that the EU will now work with the region to help in the process of integration into the European family.
“We are preparing for the Paris Summit as a continuation of the Berlin Process, which is a confirmation of EU’s support for the region” Secretary Désir said.
Meanwhile, Minister Roth said that the visit of the high delegation to the region aims to show that Germany and France continue to work together to prove that the Western Balkans will not be abandoned.
“Despite the crisis EU is faced with, we will not forget you”, Minister Roth said.
President Thaçi said that the Paris Summit is a confirmation of the support and the cooperation with the countries in the region.
Speaking about the developments in Kosovo, President Thaçi said that Kosovo institutions are entering a stage of stability and that there is the conviction that the dialogue is the only way.
“The internal dialogue and the dialogue with the neighbors is the only way forward”, President Thaçi said.
The head of state said that Kosovo will continue the internal dialogue, between all the parties, but also the external dialogue with Serbia and other neighbors, as well as with its partners, adding that the country will stand committed towards its international obligations.
“We expect that Kosovo will be rewarded in this respect. After the Stabilization Association Agreement, the liberalization of visa regime with the EU is a natural outcome”, President Thaçi concluded.
