President Thaçi meets High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini

Brussels, June 21st, 2016 – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, during today’s visit to Brussels, was also received by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini.

President Thaçi informed the EU High Representative Mogherini of Kosovo’s achievements and its commitment to peace and stability in the region.

Regarding the visa liberalization process, President Thaçi said that Kosovo now awaits a meritorious decision.

The head of state also spoke about the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia and stressed that this process has had a positive impact on building peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

On the other hand, EU High Representative Mogherini said that Kosovo should be optimistic about visa liberalization and requested the fulfillment of the last criterion, the approval of the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro.  She added that the dialogue should continue and that all countries must remain committed to establishing sincere cooperation.

Meanwhile, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi met today also with the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz.
