President Thaçi: Kosovo must be included in international anti-corruption mechanisms

Prishtina, November 14 - The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has received today the Head of the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency, Shaip Havolli.

At this meeting, President Thaçi emphasized that the Anti-Corruption Agency is one of the most powerful mechanisms in the fight against corruption and organized crime, and therefore an even bigger cooperation between all investigative and prosecutorial institutions and authorities with this institution is needed.
 
“We have progress in the fight against corruption and organized crime, but there is always an opportunity to do even more”, said President Thaçi.
 
On the other hand, the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Saip Havolli, informed President Thaçi about his commitment after having taken over this new assignment.
 
Havolli has said that the agency is maximally engaged in law enforcement and the combatting and preventing of corruption in the country.
 
President Thaçi and the Head of the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency also discussed about increasing efforts, to include Kosovo in the international anti-corruption mechanisms.
 
“Kosovo must be included in international anti-corruption mechanisms”, said President Thaçi.
