President Thaçi, in New York, met with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

New York, September 20, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, as Head of the delegation of Kosovo, met last evening with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in the framework of the meetings of the next session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Accompanied by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Behgjet Pacolli, President Thaçi expressed his gratitude to President Erdoğan for Turkey’s overall support to Kosovo.

He said that Kosovo is grateful to Turkey for its role in supporting Kosovo’s membership into international organizations and recognition from other countries.

The Head of State called for increased bilateral co-operation, especially in economy. President Thaçi invited President Erdoğan to visit Kosovo in the near future in order to deepen inter-state cooperation.
