Prishtina, February 15, 2018 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today in a meeting the Foreign Minister of Germany, Siglat Gabriel.
President Thaçi thanked Minister Gabriel for the support that the German people and state have offered to the people of Kosovo at all times.
“Germany is a strategic partner of Kosovo, not only on the bilateral level, but also on our journey towards the European Union”, stressed President Thaçi.
The President has requested the continuation of Berlin’s support in Kosovo’s membership process to the European Union, stressing the importance of approving the demarcation with Montenegro, which opens the way for visa liberalization for Kosovo.
On the other hand, the Foreign Minister of Germany, Siglat Gabriel, expressed his happiness about his visit to Kosovo, close to the marking of the tenth anniversary of the independence.
The German minister assured President Thaçi that Germany will be a powerful partner in the continuation of the consolidation of Kosovo’s international subjectivity, for economic development and for Kosovo’s European perspective.
President Thaçi has emphasized that Kosovo will remain a reliable partner and will continue to stand before the international obligations it has received.
