Prishtina, December 6, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today in a meeting the President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, Besim Hasani.
President Thaçi emphasized that the Kosovo Olympic Committee, together with the federations and sportsmen, have marked significant successes for Kosovo, especially in the international arena.
“I congratulate you on the work and the contribution you have given to the development of sports, the membership of Kosovo in the International Olympic Committee and the promotion of Kosovo in the international arena”, said President Thaçi.
On the eve of the third anniversary of Kosovo’s membership in the International Olympic Committee, President Thaçi has decorated President Hasani with the Presidential Medal of Merits for his contribution to the development of Kosovo sports.
Whereas, the President of the KOC, Besim Hasani, said he felt very honored with the award he has received from the President, saying this is an additional motive for achieving further successes for Kosovo.
He informed President Thaçi about the preparations made by the KOC for the Winter Olympics PyeongChang 2018 and the Tokyo Summer Olympics 2020.
President Thaçi has emphasized that Kosovo’s representation with sportspeople in these events is a very good opportunity to promote our sport and strengthens Kosovo’s statehood.
