The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has congratulated the chosen one of the General Assembly of the United Nations, António Guterres, as the next Secretary General of the United Nations.
“I am very pleased that the long-standing experiences of the next Secretary of the UN and his determined efforts to provide support and care for refugees around the world, to mobilize international assistance for the displaced, have been highly evaluated by all. The Republic of Kosovo remains committed to work with the elected Secretary António Guterres and the United Nations for the benefit of peace and prosperity around the world”, has said President Thaçi.
Also, President Thaçi has highly praised the personal contribution of the elected Secretary, António Guterres, in 1999 for the liberation of Kosovo.
“The world faces an unprecedented number of challenges which require that the United Nations to stand strong in its efforts”, he said.
President Thaçi whishes good luck to the Elected Secretary of the United Nations, António Guterres in performing the important tasks of his new position.
