The President of Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu met today in Zagreb the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Karl Bildt, at a meeting which discussed current developments in Kosovo, which, as it was stated at the meeting, are bearing fruit, especially when it comes to the implementation of President Ahtisaari’s Plan.

Speaking of latest developments in Kosovo, President Sejdiu mentioned, inter alia, the first municipal elections that were organized by local institutions and, in this regard, the participation of Serbs in these elections and the creation of new municipalities, as an important step that the Serbian community has made in deciding for their own future.

Further on, President Sejdiu thanked the Foreign Minister Bildt for the support that the Government of Sweden has and is still providing in terms of projects in various fields and in terms of their presence within KFOR and EULEX.

The meeting also discussed ways to do more to have Kosovo citizens, as well as those of Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, benefit from the visa liberalization process.

In the course of today’s proceedings in Zagreb, President Sejdiu had an array of meetings with leaders and officials of different countries who attended the swearing-in ceremony staged for the Croatian President-elect Ivo Josipović.
