President Pacolli receives the Republic of Germany’s Ambassador to Kosovo Hans Dieter-Steinbah

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli received today at a meeting the Republic of Germany’s Ambassador to Kosovo Hans Dieter-Steinbah, who conveyed his and Germanys’ congratulations to Mr. Pacolli for his election as President.

Ambassador Steinbah said Germany had supported the Republic of Kosovo all the time and that it would maintain a continued support. He focused on the support that Germany has provided in terms of lobbying for the recognition of Kosovo and its accession to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, emphasizing that Germany would maintain its engagement in ensuring new recognitions for Kosovo and its speediest accession to other international institutions.

He also pointed out there were many fields in which Kosovo and Germany could expand their cooperation and that economic cooperation was one of the most important, besides cooperation and assistance that Germany would provide to Kosovo in all fields of interest.

Relating to the announced dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, Ambassador Steinbah reiterated his position that Kosovo’s status and its territorial integrity would not be discussed, reminding that the German Foreign Minister Westerwelle had made the same statement during an earlier visit to Kosovo.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli praised Steinbah’s engagement and cooperation with institutions of the Republic of Kosovo highly.

He also expressed his high consideration for a continued support that Germany has provided to Kosovo, adding that such a support was and still is of a special interest to the institutions and the people of Kosovo, who he maintained could learn a lot from the German experience.

President Pacolli appreciated Germany’s engagement and assistance in terms of lobbying for new recognitions for the Republic of Kosovo and its Euro-Atlantic integration. At the same time, he underscored there was wide room for cooperation between Kosovo and Germany on all fronts and that cooperation should be intensified and expanded.
