President Pacolli meets Italian Ambassador Michael Giffoni

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli also met today with the Republic of Italy’s Ambassador to our country, Michael Giffoni.

President Pacolli thanked Ambassador Giffoni for his contribution and long engagement in the country as well as for the letter of congratulation that the President of Italy Giorgio Napolitano had extended to him on his election as President of Kosovo.

President Pacolli also recalled Italy’s great and continuous assistance to Kosovo in terms of its presence within the KFOR troops in Kosovo and in other international institutions and in other forms of supporting our country towards its accession to international institutions and integration into Euro-Atlantic community.

On his part, Ambassador Gifoni reaffirmed his country’s commitment to stand by Republic of Kosovo’s people and institutions and to support them during all the processes that would lead to opening a new perspective for Euro-Atlantic integration.

Economic cooperation and creation of a most favorable environment for Italian businesses in our country was also an important point of discussion, with regard to which both interlocutors agreed that there were many opportunities for exchanging experiences and for boosting the cooperation.
