President of the Republic of Palau, Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr., has sent a letter of congratulations to the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, upon assuiming the office of the head of state, in which he stated that he looks forward to the first official meeting with President Thaçi and the opportunity to discuss mutually beneficial issues on behalf of the people of the two countries.

Dear Excellency:
It is my distinct honor to represent the people of the Republic of Palau in extending my congratulations on your election as President of the Republic of Kosovo. You assume office at a critical juncture for your country, and I wish you success in your efforts to achieve progress towards European integration.
Palau considers Kosovo an important ally and I wish to express my firm believe that the friendly relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Palau will continue. In this context, I look forward to our first official meeting and the opportunity to discuss mutually beneficial issues on behalf of our people.
