President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs Atifete Jahjaga received today at a meeting the Australian Ambassador to Kosovo, accredited on non-residential basis, Mr David Stuart, who on this occasion presented his letters of credence.
President Jahjaga stated at the meeting with Ambassador Stuart that this year was very successful for Kosovo as, with the ending of the supervision of independence, the European perspective of Kosovo has been made clearer and concrete steps have been undertaken which will enable the initiation of the negotiations on Stabilisation-Association Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and EU.
President Jahjaga also stated that Kosovo continues to be a promoter of peace and stability in the region through excellent neighbourly relations with all countries. She emphasized that the process of the normalisation of relations has begun with Serbia as well, through the dialogue process which is being facilitated by EU and strongly supported by the USA.
The non-residential Ambassador of Australia to the Republic of Kosovo, Mr David Stuart reiterated the continuous support that the government of his country will provide to Kosovo in the field of the forthcoming international recognitions, Euro-Atlantic integrations and other processes that Kosovo is going through.
