President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the former US Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs, Mr .James Rubin.
President Jahjaga thanked Mr. Rubin for his engagement and exceptional contribution to Kosovo during the war period, which helped in establishment of peace and freedom as well as development of the country, as well as during the post war period, in building of the state of Kosovo and its international consolidation.
President Jahjaga stated that the help provided by the USA for Kosovo is essential and the support for democratic processes not only in Kosovo, but for the whole region of the South-Eastern Europe is necessary, as it guarantees peace and stability.
President Jahjaga, in honour of the contribution, actions and engagements in affirmation of the Kosovo cause, awarded Mr. James Rubin with the Presidential Medal of Merits.
Former US Assistant Secretary of State, Mr. James Rubin, thanked President Jahjaga for the hospitality and for the award. He added that Kosovo has made great progress through the years and it is showing to be a history of joint success.
