The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today the family of the late Professor Fehmi Agani, killed by Serb forces in May 1999.
On this occasion, President Atifete Jahjaga handed family Agani the Order “Hero of Kosovo”, with which Professor Fehmi Agani was decorated by President Ibrahim Rugova.
President Jahjaga said that professor Agani will continue to be an inspiration for generations, to create great works in science, culture, politics and patriotism.
“Our new history has often been tragic, as nation in general, and especially for many prominent individuals and families. But our history is the newest history of the triumph of freedom and independence over oppression and submission. This is essential merit of distinguished professor, Fehmi Agani, whom we honor today with the Order “Hero of Kosovo”, said President Jahjaga.
Thanking President for decoration, the wife of Professor Agani, Sadije Agani said it is a great honor for her and family Agani, to receive this decoration from the first female president of Kosovo.
