European Parliament observes 12 elections in Kosovo

The President of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek, in a letter sent to Dr. Jakup Krasniqi, Acting President of Kosovo, has confirmed that this institution will observe the general elections to be held on Sunday in the Republic of Kosovo.

Responding to the invitation that Mr. Krasniqi has extended to the European Parliament, through a letter on 04 November 2010, to observe general elections in our country, Mr. Buzek informs the Acting President of Kosovo Dr. Jakup Krasniqi that the European Parliament has decided to send a four-member delegation to observe these elections. He also points out that members of the delegation will be appointed by the political groups at the European Parliament.

“Republic of Kosovo is an important partner to the EU in the Western Balkan, and the European Parliament attaches a great weight to supporting and strengthening democracy in your country”, the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek writes in his letter.
