Croatia committed to supporting the Republic of Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu, who is on an official visit to the Unites States, met the Croatian counterpart, President Stjepan Mesić, on a working breakfast.

During this friendly meeting, President Sejdiu thanked President Mesić for the support that he has provided to the Republic of Kosovo by lobbying for the recognition of its independence.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the Kosovar Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Skender Hyseni, the two statesmen discussed recent developments in both countries, laying a special emphasis on the need for visa liberalization that would facilitate the free movement of the people of both countries.

Economic cooperation was one of the major topics of discussion. President Sejdiu and President Mesić underscored the need for a better cooperation in this field, so as to provide businesses with better conditions for increasing their exchange of goods and for investing in major projects in both countries respectively.

President Sejdiu and President Mesićć discussed the sensitive period that the Republic of Kosovo is going through at the stage of lobbying for new recognitions of its independence by as many countries as possible, a stage that requires an unreserved engagement by all country’s institutions, but also by all friends of the state of Kosovo.

The two presidents also exchanged experiences in the field of Euro-Atlantic integrations.
